Yields
The yield of a synthesis is the quantity of product created from known amounts of starting materials.
The yield is the mass of product after separating it from the mixture, purifying and drying it.
The yield is the mass of product expected if the reaction goes perfectly and there are no losses while purifying, transferring the chemicals etc.
The yield is always less than the yield because in real life there are small losees.

Percentage Yield
This is the percentage of the yield that is actually obtained.
Percentage yield = (actual yield x 100)/theoretical yield
